5th Annual Shorts of All Sorts
\nDIRECTED BY WOMEN<\/h2>\n

Every year for the past five years I have felt inspired selecting and screening the works directed by women in the month of September but I guess there is something to be said for anniversaries because this year I felt particularly exhilarated. Granted, co-curator and co-host Eric Rice and I each had a particularly challenging year personally so perhaps that has something to do with my appreciation for the “fifth annual” event – but, at the same time, each year we have managed to get a little more organized and make it all happen. So when it came to the night of this year I was able to enjoy the evening and engage more with the filmmakers and the audience.<\/p>\n

We are very grateful to Barbara Ann O’Leary who initiated the Directed by Women global celebration and invited us all to do this five years ago, to all who attended, to Crystal Lake for helping us make everything go smoothly and, of course, to the filmmakers for creating the work!<\/p>\n
