DENA HYSELL has directed documentary and narrative fiction films. She started out as a producer after studying at Stanford and has served on the board of the non-profit Mobile Film Classroom which teaches kids storytelling and filmmaking skills.

Her directorial debut was a documentary about business people who survived and thrived despite the economic crisis, The Paladins (2012).

DENNIE GORDON graduated from Yale’s School of Drama in Directing to working in film and television and has directed over forty episodes of television as well as feature film What a Girl Wants (2003) and New York Minute (2004).

She was the first American woman to direct in China with her feature My Lucky Star (2013) which she shot in Hong Kong.

JERUSHA HESS wrote the cult film Napoleon Dynamite (2004) directed by her husband Jared Hess who she met while studying film at Brigham Young University.

She went on to direct the film Austenland (2013) based on the novel by Shannon Hale about the world of Jane Austen fans.

DEBORAH KAPLAN writes regularly with her creative partner Harry Elfton who she met while a student at NYU. Her directorial debut Can’t Hardly Wait (1998) starred Jennifer Love Hewitt and was made with Elfont.

They have gone on to work on other projects together including Josie and the Pussycats (2001) and worked on a script of the famous book “Men are from Mars. Women are From Venus.” which has yet to be made.
