GRACE LEE directs both documentaries and narrative fiction films. She started out as a journalist before deciding to share stories via film.

Lee then attended UCLA to study film. She is  a 2016 Sundance Institute Women’s Initiative fellow.

CHIEMI KARASAWA has produced almost twenty documentaries and is credited with directing two including Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me (2013).

She has also worked as a script supervisor on numerous narrative fiction films. She founded Isotope Films.

Bite-sized blog post: Kathleen Davison

Kathleen Davison

In the midst of post-production for her first film KATHLEEN DAVISON was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She postponed surgery to complete the film.

A graduate of Penn State’s Theatre department Davison moved to Los Angeles and started working on sets in order to learn about making movies. Her feature film Primrose Lane (2015) has garnered her critical acclaim in the festival circuit and she is healthy post-surgery!

Susanna Fogel

SUSANNA FOGEL’s first feature Life Parnters (2014) was based on a play she co-wrote with her screenwriting partner and friend Joni Lefkowitz.

The film was picked up by Magnolia Pictures and the two of them went on to create Chasing Life, a tv series about a woman battling cancer for ABC.

Victoria Mahoney

VICTORIA MAHONEY began her career as an actress where she first met Ava Duvernay, appearing in a short film directed by Duvernay. Mahoney went on to direct her first feature Yelling to the Sky (2011) which won critical acclaim a the Berlin International Film Festival and SXSW.

Mahoney is slated to direct an episode of Duvernay’s television series Queen Sugar.
