The same year Richard Linklater came out with his Academy Award winning film Boyhood (2014) SOPHIE HYDE went to Sundance with her film 52 Tuesdays (2013), a film where the story unfolds and is shot every week for a year with actors and crew gathering every Tuesday to shoot a new scene.

52 Tuesdays won the World Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance in 2014.

TANYA WEXLER got her MFA at Columbia before making her first feature Finding North (1998). After her second feature it took ten years for her to make the critically acclaimed Hysteria (2011). Keanu Reeves is slated to star in her next film  Replicas.

After engaging in a twitter discussion with Colin Treverrow about his misguided comment that women simply aren’t interested in directing studio films, according to reports Wexler met up with him in person to open a dialogue of more than 140 characters concerning the issue.

BARBRA STREISAND is a musical theater and actress powerhouse who made her directorial debut with Yentl (1983) which she fought to get made and opened the door for future directing and producing opportunities.

Much like Mary Pickford in the early days of the industry Streisand insists on shaping her own career. She was the Oscar presenter for the monumental moment when Kathryn Bigelow became the first woman to win an Academy Award for Best Director.

ALICE WU has a BS amd a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University.

She left a job at Microsoft in Seattle to pursue filmmaking and directed her first feature film Saving Face (2004), one of the few films with a full Chinese-American cast bank rolled by Hollywood after winning the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment award, was based on a novel she wrote about her experiences coming out to her family.
