KARYN KUSAMA’S first film Girlfight (2000) premiered at Sundance and after its success she went on to direct the studio feature Aeon Flux (2005).

Her most recent feature The Invitation (2015) was part of the new narrative fiction funding offspring of Chicken & Egg – Gamechanger films.

Bite-sized blog post: Jennifer Lynch

JENNIFER LYNCH is the daughter of cult classic director David Lynch but she is also a director in her own right.

Her first feature film Boxing Helena (1995) was plagued with a lawsuit with famous actress Nicole Kidman but was still made and led to a successful career for Lynch directing television and features.

Bite-sized blog post: Julie Delpy

Julie Delpy may be a famous French actress but she’s also a director. Her first feature film Looking for Jimmy (2002) was shot in real time in Los Angeles – only stopping the shoot when camera batteries had to be changed.

She went on to write and direct Two Days in Paris (2007) and the sequel Two Days in New York (2012).

Bite-sized blog post: Miranda July

MIRANDA JULY was raised in Berkeley, CA and made her feature film debut with Me and You and Everyone (2005) which was shot digitally before ti was ubiquitous and won the Camera d’Or at Cannes.

She went on to make the feature film The Future (2011) and has recently written a novel.

TANYA HAMILTON moved to the United States from Jamaica at the age of eight. She studied at Cooper Union and then got her MFA at Columbia before making her first feature film Night Catches Us (2010).

Night Catches Us was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.

Bite-sized blog post: Eleanor Coppola

ELEANOR COPPOLA, may be married to one of the most famous directors alive, but she is also an artist and director in her own right. She directed the Emmy nominated Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse (1991) about the making of Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now (1979).

She recently directed her first narrative fiction film Paris Can Wait now in post-production.
